Monument of Faith was established in 1989 by God and under the leadership of Rev. David L. Herron. The ministry began by conducting services at the Dulaney Community Center in Warren. The congregation moved to another temporary location in a Seventh Day Adventist Church on Oak Street before being blessed with the current edifice on Highland Avenue.

The church membership and its influence throughout the community has blossomed under Rev. Herron’s leadership. Monument of Faith is truly a church for all people as believers from various races, backgrounds and life experiences have found salvation, renewal and restoration through its ministry. Herron’s vision and passion for all of God’s people lead him to begin construction on the $1.9 million dollar Community Family Outreach Complex (CFOC). Outreach efforts conducted through CFOC include, annual clothing and coat giveaways, preparation of meals, tutoring programs and a monthly food giveaway.

In 2011 Rev. Herron was designated as the Prelate of the Ohio Central East Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ. This appointment will pave the way for Bishop Designate Herron’s vision to equip local churches to take the ministry of Christ beyond the church walls to be realized throughout the state of Ohio. Standing with Bishop Herron throughout his time in ministry at Monument of Faith has been his wife of 30 years, Lady Brenda, and their children Christina (Patrick), David Jr. (Jessica) and Daniel Herron.
